Company Policies & Procedures

Taste of Lux provide a delicious range of baked treats, both savoury and sweet.

We will endeavour to provide the best service we possibly can on all occasions. Despite appearances, Taste of Lux is a small family based business with three full time staff operating within the bakery and another four family members on standby to assist when needed.

We can only take on a certain amount of orders at a time. This is to ensue we can maintain our service level and standards as well as delivery schedules.

We are unable to provide an exact delivery time at the time of an order. The company does not have a fleet of vans providing deliveries around the UK. We have two methods of providing delivery. One is DPD local and the other is one of our team delivering direct to your door within Nottingham.The company is not liable for failure to provide the same service or prices as a Supermarket.

The company’s expected service level is that delivery will happen on the specified date at time of ordering and no later than 7 working days past the agreed date.

For any changes to your order, you must inform us as soon as possible. We will try and accommodate your request.The company is not liable for losses experienced by customers who do not inform the company using email, not social media or any other form of communication, that they want a particular day for delivery and then ask for a future or different delivery date from DPD local after shipment or our direct courier in house.

Customers are expected to read and understand the information provided to them on the company website before purchase and shipment of products. If the customer is unsure of anything, it is their responsibility to ask Taste of Lux their questions before purchasing. The company shall not be held liable for a service which results from failure to read and understand the information provided, or a customer not making relevant inquires at the time of browsing our products and before purchasing.

If after receiving the products you have any complaints about the quality or appearance of the products please take photos of the products involved and send to us within 72 hours.

Customers using abusive language, spamming or trolling behaviour will at the company’s discretion, be denied service, be denied requests for refunds, be denied store credits and will be denied resends of orders, they may also be removed and blocked from social media and denied any orders in the future.

Terms and Conditions

All our Products made by us are subject to the following Terms and Conditions.

Our aim is to provide all of our customers with fantastic service. In the unlikelihood of receiving a complaint, each complaint is resolved in a fair and even-handed manner, taking into account the concerns of both the customer and the baker.

If you are unhappy with your order for any reason, please email us at delicious@tasteoflux.com with your order number, order date and photo if applicable (or dated receipt from a market or fair with a photo if applicable) in the subject line within 72 hours of purchasing of the item. Any complaint received over 72 hours after the item is purchased cannot be accommodated.

If there is a clear problem with the item, we do apologise and will do our best to correct the error. If we are unable to correct the error, we will aim to discuss and agree the appropriate discount for the circumstances in good faith.

Please do keep in mind that there may be slight differences in terms of look from the images on the product page. This is due to the fact that all our items are hand-made from scratch and therefore there might be slight variations in look and weight, however will be true to their descriptions in regards to approximate weights, ingredients and quality.

Therefore slight differences in the look of the items to the images on the website will not alone constitute a reason for a discount.

Service Agreement

Our services are available only to, and may only be used by individuals who can be legally bound by contracts under the applicable law. Each user of our website must have a valid credit or debit card and a valid e-mail address for contact purposes. Phone numbers may be used as a form of identification and verification.

Taste of Lux’s website services are available only for credit and debit card types which are listed on the Website or direct bank transfer where applicable.

The Website is not directed to children under the age of 18. If you are under 18 years old, you may browse the Website, however, you may not place an order online or provide Taste of Lux with any of your personally identifiable information. Taste of Lux will permanently delete a child’s personally identifiable information if a parent so requests by sending an e-mail to delicious@tasteoflux.com

Where Are You Based?

We are based at East Bridgford Business Park, NG13 8PJ

Do you have a retail store where I can walk in and purchase items?

Whilst we do have a unit and premises, we do not currently have a customer facing “shop”. Instead we have an online store and you can find us at multiple fairs, festivals, markets and events around the UK. If you would like to arrange a collection, please feel free to message us to arrange a date and time.

Do You Offer Tastings for Grazing Tables?

Yes, we do indeed!

At just £15pp we offer a tasting session based on your dietary requests. Additional charges may incur for travel if outside of Nottinghamshire.

Food and Safety Hygiene Rating

We have a very strict on-boarding process and all of our bakers are required to hold the necessary food & hygiene certification. We are also registered with our local council and have regular inspections. We are very proud to also hold a 5* rating, which is the highest a food related company can receive.

 

Food and Safety Standards

We set high standards for each of our products, ensuring each baker follows strict guidelines for every item we list. We document each order and ensure every item meets our expectations. Please do, however, keep in mind that each cake is hand-made and there can sometimes be slight variation from the product image.

Lastly, we take feedback from customers seriously and constantly evaluate baker performance. In the rare instances that we cannot match customer expectation, we immediately try to do everything we can to make it right.

Ingredients and Allergens

We have bakers who specialise in catering to specific dietary requirements. Please make sure you state any preferred dietary requirements clearly so that your request is only sent out to the bakers who are qualified to help.

Please note that we do not operate from a kitchen which is certified “free-from” nuts or any other ingredients as we use these items for grazing boards and markets etc. Specific ingredients can be excluded from your grazing boards and tables and care is taken to avoid contamination, but there is always a risk of trace amounts, and as such our items are not suitable for people with severe allergies.

It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure that the item is suitable for those who will consume it.

We can cater to the below dietary requirements in each case with the possibility of trace amounts being included:

  • Made without gluten;
  • Made without dairy;
  • Made without eggs;
  • Made without nuts;
  • Vegan
  • Halal

For every order, we provide an allergen card and please ensure you read this when you receive the cake.

Are there gluten free/dietary options?

Yes! We have a range of dietary options available, for one off purchases as well as grazing board and table options. If booking with us for an event, we would be happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and requests.

Collection Waver

If you have chosen to have your items including one offs, Too Good To Go Bags or grazing boards picked up, we cannot be responsible for damage to any item once it has left us.

The Customer is liable for any damage, accident, or mishap that may occur once the items are released from the care and custody of Taste Of Lux. The Supplier is not liable for any damage that may occur thereafter.

Hired items and set ups

Deposits are taken for all equipment. All equipment must be returned on agreed date or extra charges may be levied to cover hire costs. Any damages to equipment will incur a reduction of deposit returned in order to cover costs of repair or replacement.

Payment Options

We have differing payment options depending on where you purchase your items from. For example, on our website we have bank transfer options as well as online payments and if a repeat customer, we also have cash on delivery. For markets, we take cash payments as well as card payments using our hand held payment devices. All grazing boards and tables must be paid for in advance with a 50% non refundable deposit upfront at the time of booking. No booking or date is secure without a deposit.

When Should I Expect My Order/Delivery?

Our fresh items are handmade to order, so please allow up to 48 hours from purchase. If you would like to check if a specific day and time is available for Nottingham delivery, please contact us directly before purchase.

Your bread is baked fresh and posted, for next day delivery via DPD or if Nottingham based, one of our drivers will driver your order direct. If you provide a mobile number and email address, we will send you a delivery window on the day of delivery. Please note, orders may take longer to dispatch during peak times such as Christmas, Easter, and bank holidays.

Our delivery windows are usually 11am-7pm

Can I Request A Specific Date?

If you’d like a specific delivery date, please add it as a note in your order. We will do our best to accommodate you, and if it’s not possible we will get in touch.

How Much Is Delivery

Delivery is free for the following postcodes:

NG3, NG4, NG5, NG14,

For other Nottingham postcodes:

£2.99

Outside of Nottingham:

£4.99 on orders over £48.

Standard delivery is £5.99

Orders under £10 cost £6.99

Cancellation Terms

We completely understand that you might have a change in circumstances or a cancellation of the event you are celebrating. However, each baker has limited capacity and by taking on your order, will turn away other business, as well as potentially incurring costs in relation to your purchases and the time to make, bake, arrange or schedule your items.

Please see our guidance on events, grazing board and table bookings and item purchases in regards to cancellations and changes. Please note, every booking includes a 50% non refundable deposit.

Grazing Boards

  • cancellation must be requested with over 14 days notice of the original service or delivery date for a refund – minus the 50% non refundable deposit

Grazing Tables

  • cancellation must be requested with over 28 days notice of the original service or delivery date for a refund – minus the 50% non refundable deposit

Events

  • cancellation must be requested with over 30 days notice of the original service or delivery date for a refund – minus the 50% non refundable deposit

 

If you request a cancellation less than the required days mentioned above, we are not obliged to give a refund. If we choose to give a refund or alternatively a store credit, we do so at our sole discretion and reserve the right to deduct the baker’s reasonable costs (including opportunity cost from orders turned down).

In the unlikely event that we have to cancel your order for any reason, we will refund the full price to you. We will not be liable for any costs or damages beyond the amount paid for the items.

Deposit Payments

Deposits must be made via cash, direct bank transfer or debit card through a payment link. We do not accept deposit payments via credit cards.

Deposits must be made before the event and a minimum of:

  • 14 days before the required date for grazing boards
  • 30 days before the required date for grazing tables
  • If a booking is made below the minimum deposit date, the full payment must be made.
  • No date or booking is confirmed or secure without a deposit payment.

Final Payments

Final Payments must be made via cash, direct bank transfer or debit card through a payment link. We do not accept payments via credit cards.

Payments must be made a month before the event.

  • No date or booking is confirmed or secure without a full payment.
  • If the full payment is not received a full month before your event, we hold the right to cancel your booking. An additional late charge of £15 a day will be added to the customer’s invoice.
  • Events not paid in full by four weeks before the event will be cancelled and the customer will lose their right for any refund.

Why Do We Take A Non Refundable Deposit Payment?

In summary, every booking we take has a value in relation to time, energy, resources and finances. By taking on your booking, we allocate a certain amount of each in order to fulfill your request.

When an event or booking is changed or cancelled, the amount of time, energy, resources and finances have been, essentially wasted. In addition to this, our team could have taken on other clients and bookings during this time period as well as having had the date available for someone else. In many cases, that date will remain un-allocated, causing a loss of earnings.

By taking a non refundable deposit it begins a contractual agreement between the customer and Taste of Lux.

We require a 50% deposit for our services in order to ensure that we can allocate the necessary resources for your order, event or booking. The deposit is standard practice in many industries to protect both parties involved in a transaction. By requiring a deposit, we can mitigate any finances risk we may incur if you cancel your end of the agreement. It also serves as a commitment from both us, the service provider and you, the client to follow through with the booking and helps us mange our cash flow. Additionally, it helps us cover any upfront costs and/ or expenses related to your booking.

A non-refundable deposit is a payment that is made to secure an agreement between two parties. It is not refundable, even if the agreement is not fulfilled.

Publication, Social Media and Image Sharing

We reserve the right to use any image of a Product made by us for publication at a later date. We may take photos before and after our set up for Grazing Boards and Tables.

Privacy Policy

This page is used to inform website visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decided to use our Service, the Taste of Lux website.

If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation with this policy. The Personal Information that we collect are used for providing and improving the Service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions.

Infomation Collection and Uses

For a better experience while using our Service, we may require you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information, including but not limited to your name, phone number, and postal address. The information that we collect will be used to contact or identify you.

Log Data

We want to inform you that whenever you visit our Service, we collect information that your browser sends to us that is called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol (“IP”) address, browser version, pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, and other statistics.

Cookies are files with small amount of data that is commonly used an anonymous unique identifier. These are sent to your browser from the website that you visit and are stored on your computer’s hard drive.

Our website uses these “cookies” to collection information and to improve our Service. You have the option to either accept or refuse these cookies, and know when a cookie is being sent to your computer. If you choose to refuse our cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

We may employ third-party companies and individuals due to the following reasons:

Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal identifiable information from children under 13. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we will be able to do necessary actions.

Changes to Privacy Policies

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, we advise you to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately, after they are posted on this page.
